Rosalyn Steel has worked professionally as an artist and illustrator for over twenty years and is consistently requested to carry out commissions for landscape paintings and portraits of homes and animals. Her work has been converted into greetings cards and prints on sale throughout the U.K. Ros runs a local watercolour group which meets once a fortnight to paint and exchange ideas and techniques. If you have always wanted to “have a go” at watercolour painting and have never had the time or already paint and wish to extend your horizons, why not book a few hours’ tuition during your stay to fit in with your holiday arrangements.

Painting can be the most fulfilling of pursuits and anyone who can hold a pencil or brush can surprise themselves with their achievements if they are patient and willing to spend the time on some practice and experimentation.

If you are a beginner, one or two 3 hour sessions whilst on holiday, will introduce you to the basics of colour theory, tone control and perspective - both linear and aerial.

Improvers will be given the opportunity to refresh their ideas and revise any bad habits they may have adopted. Help and encouragement are given to those who seek to develop their painting abilities.

All tuition is suited to meet individual needs and the sessions – although structured – are relaxed and informal and all students are encouraged too.

Private tuition can be arranged prior to arrival and is usually from 10 a.m. to 1.00 p.m. on a day to suit your holiday schedule. The cost for three hours is Ł20.

For absolute beginners without any materials of their own , paint, brushes and paper can be provided at a small additional charge.
