Retreat Garden

As keen gardeners, we are developing the garden from a blank canvas and it is constantly evolving. Our challenge is to balance our passion for plants with a programme of easy maintenance and all-year round interest. Our style is simple borders mainly featuring traditional cottage garden plants.

We are pleased to open the garden and give a welcome to visitors. If you would like to come and enjoy the garden and the far-reaching views, we are usually open on Tuesdays from May to September between 11 a.m. and 4p.m. If you are planning a visit, please get in touch with us beforehand just to make quite sure we will be around. We are able to provide tea and coffee on request.

There are many seating areas and this will appeal to those seeking solitude and calm.

Our aim is to offer a place of spiritual refreshment. Visitors are free to sit and read, or walk in the garden and fields. Some may want to talk, others may want to be on their own.

Two or three times during the year, along with the support of our local clergy, “Focus Days” are arranged which are led and include a programme of meditation and prayer.

Our next Focus Day is planned for Lent 2008. Please contact us for more details.

We are able to offer facilities for quiet retreat days/group gatherings for up to twelve people who wish to follow their own programme. Refreshments/light lunches can be provided.
